The Environmental and Readiness Center
(E&RC) at Camp Edwards on Joint Base Cape Cod (JBCC) was created in January 2001 by the Massachusetts Army National Guard (MANG) in order to provide the expertise and resources necessary to follow through on its commitment to provide realistic training for National Guard and other soldiers while protecting the environment of the Upper Cape Water Supply Reserve and the Camp Edwards Training Area.

The mission of the E&RC is to integrate protection of the environment with compatible military training within the Upper Cape Water Supply Reserve and the Camp Edwards Training Area.

Camp Edwards Army National Guard Training Site employs professionals working in the areas of natural and cultural resources management, environmental compliance, hazardous waste handling and reduction, and training area and venue improvements.
