Community Event Support

Through positive Community Relations efforts, the Massachusetts National Guard can educate the citizens of Massachusetts about the role of the National Guard and foster a better understanding of our mission.

While the Massachusetts National Guard has a permanent presence in more than 40 communities throughout the commonwealth, we strive to support and participate in events all across the state that benefit the citizens of the commonwealth and give them insight into their National Guard. Among the different types of support the Massachusetts National Guard can provide are: color guards; static displays; flyovers; and participation in parades and others events. All support requests should be submitted 90 days prior to the event.

Our goal is to support as many events as possible, however our commanders at our local units must balance these requests against mission and training requirements, as well as available resources.

To request non-aviation support, open and fill out the DD form 2536 and E-mail or mail using the contact information below. If you would like you can include a cover letter on organizational letterhead.

To request Army aviation support, (Flyovers and Static Displays) open and fill out the DD form 2535 and E-mail or mail using the contact information below.  If you would like you can include a cover letter on organizational letterhead.

To request Air Force aviation support (Flyovers, or static displays at events such as air shows) go to this website:  There you will find a web based version of the DD form 2535 that gets submitted to the Department of the Air Force.  Once approved by the Air Force you will receive instructions on how to contact a local flying wing to request their participation.

You can mail, or scan and e-mail, non-aviation and Army aviation support requests to the Directorate of Military Support at:
